
Artist Bio
Starting his artistic practice in 2017, NormanArtz explores the human quality of empathy through his ironically colourful expressions, many of which focus on the human face and its expressions. NormanArtz’s works grow and evolve each year into something bigger and more layered, a process of artistic growth that parallels his own personal development
Muhammad Nurman Selamat was born in 1994, a Singapore-based artist who has been a professional artist working since 2017. He enjoys adding a unique touch to his work in order to make each piece distinctive. Multiple works by NormanArtz are currently being exhibited in a variety of galleries locally and soon abroad like Germany and Malaysia.
NormanArtz have participated in various arts events including getting his works up in a drama series (Suria Mediacorp) in early 2019 and performed live painting presentations at the Saturday Indesign Singapore 2019 event etc
Aside from being featured on the national news like Berita Harian and Berita Mediacorp on many different occasions from a period of 2019 to 2022, he was also getting featured in other various pages on Social Media platforms (Instagrams) such as TimeOut SG, and The A list.
Some contributions of NormanArtz were the commissioned craft of ONE Championship fighter, Christian Lee in 2021 where the artist painted a portrait of the champ. Another instance was that his painting of the late Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who was assassinated in 2022, got added into the book of condolences as a tribute.
Aside from only focusing on creating his crafts, NormanArtz was managing an Art exhibition called Ruang Ekspressi which was held at the Arts House SG. The exhibition consisted of various crafts made by ex inmates who were hand picked by the VARIASI Team.
Under VARIASI, he too led the team in organizing a community project in 2022 to give back to the less fortunate families in Boon Lay where a total of 30 beneficiaries were given food supplies, cash donations and also assistance to re-organize/clean 5 selected homes.
